What is a High Efficiency boiler and what is the benefit of installing such a boiler?

Most old boilers fitted in Ireland would be Standard Efficiency boilers and would have a less than 75% efficiency rating. In fact most old boilers would have a rating significantly less than that. With old boilers a significant part of heat is lost through the flue or chimney.

New High Efficiency boilers have a rating of over 90%. This is done by recycling the flue gases of the boiler to produce more heat.

How much will I save on heating bills by replacing an old boiler with a new high efficiency boiler?

Typical case studies show an annual saving of over 20% in heating bills by changing from a standard efficiency boiler to a High Efficiency boiler and up to 35% if you also upgrade heating controls.

Are there grants available?

Grants are available from the SEAI for the installation of a High Efficiency boiler together with an upgrade of Heating Controls under the Better Energy Homes Scheme. All Gas is a registered contractor under the Better Energy Homes Scheme.

All Gas can upgrade your boiler to a high efficiency boiler in just one day, with no fuss or mess. We will take away all rubbish on completion. The addition of heating control upgrade adds an extra day to the job generally. We can upgrade your heating controls with minimum disruption and leave you with an energy efficient and comfortable home.

Is boiler location important?

Yes it is important for a number of reasons:

• Accessibility.
